Summer Series Postponed to July 25 Due to Inclement Weather

Family-friendly activities led by community partners, plus food trucks and music.

UPDATE: The second Summer Series date has been postponed due to inclement weather and will now take place on Thursday, July 25 from 5:30-7:30pm. Stay tuned to soar365.org and follow SOAR365 on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for any further updates about Summer Series.

SOAR365 is thrilled to announce the return of Summer Series to PARK365!

Presented by Call Federal Credit Union, we’re once again teaming up with local nonprofits to host two nights of free, inclusive fun at the best playground in Richmond.

Join us from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on June 20 and July 18 to enjoy food trucks, a DJ and more!

Both events are free, but registration is requested. Each date has a separate registration link, so please visit one or both depending on when you’d like to join us! Anyone and everyone are welcome to attend, and you can either attend just one date or both dates.

PARK365 is already home to an accessible treehouse and merry-go-round, supportive swings, colorful playgrounds and athletic courts for all to enjoy.

Each night of Summer Series, however, one of our community partners will introduce new ways to play with free, accessible activities for the whole family:

On June 20, we’ll welcome Special Olympics Virginia to PARK365 for an evening of bocce ball, cornhole, basketball skills competitions, fitness activities and even athletic activities for children ages 7 and under. Plus, there will be a petting zoo!

Special Olympics Virginia’s mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Monique’s Crepes will be on site to dish out delicious treats for purchase, while DJ Melvin spins family-friendly tunes.

On July 25 (originally July 18), Sportable makes its way to PARK365 to lead adaptive sports activities like wheelchair basketball, pickleball, soccer, and more for all ages and all abilities!

Sportable has created opportunities and transformed the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments through sport since 2005. By fostering a fun, inclusive, competitive, and accessible environment, they transform the lives of their athletes and free them to see beyond their disability, enhance their peer relationships and help them to reach their personal finish line.

Come hungry, as both Boka Tako and Tablespoons Bakery will be there with their tasty offerings for sale. DJ Melvin will be back once again to keep the energy high with music.

Make sure to bring your curiosity and sense of discovery! Learn more about opportunities for kids and adults with disabilities while enjoying music and delicious food. At PARK365, everyone can play side by side, make new friends and find new activities to enjoy together.
