SOAR365 Spring Videography Intern
Each January, SOAR365 recruits a talented student intern to create a new volunteer impact video to celebrate National Volunteer Appreciation Week. This year’s student, Aljane Caragos, has hit the ground running with an exciting vision, impressive videography skills, and an abundance of ambition. Currently a Brightpoint Community College student majoring in Mass Communications, Aljane ultimately plans to apply his expertise in the United States Air Force while continuing to stay involved in his church activities. “I was born and raised in the Philippines. Our church, Members Church of God International, does a lot of charitable events including MCGI Cares Medical Mission and I discovered my passion for videography through my involvement with the church and these events.”
Over the course of the semester, Aljane will complete 135 hours to receive three academic credits for his Writing Across Media course (CST 228). This project will allow him to strengthen a number of techniques in addition to writing & reporting such as conducting interviews, building narrative structure, editing for effective transitions, and use of persuasive verbal communication.
But for Aljane, the experience means much more than just skill acquisition. “SOAR365’s endless caring, helping, and aid to people of all ages who have special needs is what made me choose this organization. To be part of their mission while gaining experience for my career is the reason why I applied. The staff’s hospitality is one of the things I have been enjoying the most. If you love helping people who are in need, SOAR365 is the best place to intern.”
Be on the lookout for Aljane’s inspiring volunteer impact video, coming to our web site during National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 17-22, 2023)!
