RICHMOND, Va. ā As part of āA Day of Service: Moving Richmond Forward Togetherā, SOAR365 has partnered with the City of Richmond to offer a public service project opportunity on Saturday, January 11.
Coinciding with Mayor-Elect Dr. Danny Avulaās inauguration, the day is meant to be one of celebration and of concrete action that invites all Richmonders to serve our community.
Following his swearing-in ceremony, Dr. Avulaās Inaugural Committee and the City of Richmond will host service projects across the city in all nine Council Districts, meeting the needs of the community, schools, and nonprofit partners.
With a total of 15 slots available, volunteers who register to help at SOAR365 will jump in to sort, label and organize our craft supplies. This will be a tremendous help as we fill this indoor chilly season with fun by doing daily art activities with our participants! We welcome volunteers of all ages, as long as they have a parent or guardian with them.
āWeāve worked with several different departments and offices at City Hall, with Richmond Public Schools, City Council, the Community Foundation, and with nonprofits and community groups all across the city to put together a really meaningful list of opportunities for folks to serve the community. Itās been a wonderful experience working with the Cityās staff on organizing these service projects,ā saidāÆJonathan Chan, Operations Director for the Inaugural Committee.
