The October 2024 edition of SOAR365’s volunteer newsletter is out now! Read about Dominion Energy’s fourth straight year of helping out at Camp Baker and Kim Lynch’s gift of nursing expertise. Plus, the next Next Generation Council (NGC) social date and location has been announced!

We’re so grateful for all of the local volunteer groups that joined us this this summer! Since June, we have welcomed the Chester Civitan Club, Public Consulting Group (PCG), EAB, Catholic Heart Work Camp, Dutch Fork Church, Paymerang, Enterprise Fleet Management, Weidmuller, Lansing, Virginia Lottery, the Junior League of Richmond, and students from the VCU School of Medicine.

Summer Camp season is coming to a close, but not without a few more legendary performances! Each week concludes with a SOAR365 Camp Baker tradition: the Talent Show! This is a highlight for campers, families and staff, as everyone jumps in to show off their talents. We also invite volunteers to join us each week to cheer on participants.

It’s back to school time in Virginia and we’ve got some tips for families who have children with disabilities. We’ve also got awesome news about one of our staff members, PARK365 received yet another big award, and much more.

We’ve kicked off summer in a BIG way at SOAR365! We celebrated the start of another exciting Summer Camp season, kicked off full days of adventure in our Youth and Adult Day Support programs, and welcomed so many fantastic volunteers to our team!

Summer Series 2024 is officially here! Alongside Special Olympics Virginia and Sportable, SOAR365 will be hosting two evenings of accessible fun in PARK365. Each will feature food trucks, music and family-friendly activities from our community partners.

Recent intern Alicia Brown used her photography skills to document SOAR365 volunteers, events, activities, and spaces – and the results of her efforts will be archived and shared for years to come!
