RICHMOND, Va. – SOAR365 received a prestigious Capital Award for Feature Stories and was named a finalist in the Publications category at the 78th Annual Virginia Public Relations Awards, hosted by the Public Relations Society of America’s Richmond Chapter.
SOAR365 won top honors in the Feature Stories category for “SOAR365 Supported Employment Inspires DeCarlos to Dream Big,” a compelling profile highlighting how SOAR365’s Supported Employment program empowered DeCarlos to overcome barriers and pursue his dreams with confidence.
Written by SOAR365 Content Writer Kristal Seaford, the story stood out among strong contenders from VCU Health and Virginia Commonwealth University.


In addition, SOAR365 was recognized as a finalist in the Publications category for its 2023 Annual Report: “One Mission, Shared Values.” The report showcased SOAR365’s commitment to transparency, community impact, and storytelling through engaging design and narrative, placing the organization among notable finalists including the University of Richmond and VPM.
Hosted on Wednesday, May 28th at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, nearly 40 awards were presented for work in categories ranging from media relations and social media to research, video and integrated campaigns.
Each award entry was judged and scored by peer communications professionals of the PRSA Georgia chapter.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that SOAR365 has earned at least one Virginia Public Relations Award and the second straight year with a Capital Award-winning submission.
The organization has also earned awards for The Update Newsletter (2022), National Disability Employment Awareness Month campaign (2022), Annual Report (2022 & 2023), SummerFest (2023), the Ladybug Fund Winetasting & Silent Auction (2023) and Website Redesign (2024).
