PARK365 named Best Community Playground for fourth consecutive year; SOAR365 earns third place in the Best Nonprofit Leader (Volunteer or Organization) category
RICHMOND, Va. — SOAR365 is honored to have won awards in four categories of Richmond Magazine’s 2026 “Best & Worst” survey. Our inclusive playground, PARK365, was voted Best Community Playground, while SOAR365 was awarded third place in the Best Nonprofit Leader (Volunteer or Organization) category.
Additionally, the popular Ladybug Fund Winetasting & Silent Auction was recognized as the second place Best Charity Fundraising Event or Gala (one place higher than in 2025), and the organization was honored with third place in the Best Volunteer Activity for Families and Groups category.
Each year, Richmond Magazine surveys thousands of readers to determine the region’s favorites across hundreds of categories, including food, entertainment, services, and community features. The “Best & Worst” issue is one of the publication’s most anticipated editions, celebrating what makes Richmond a vibrant place to live, work, and play.
“Anytime we are recognized by our fellow community members for the work we do to support people with disabilities and their families is incredibly meaningful,” said John Walker, President & CEO of SOAR365. “We extend our thanks to everyone who voted for us, volunteered with us, visited PARK365, or attended the Ladybug Fund event – your belief in our mission makes all the difference.”
This is not the first time SOAR365 has been recognized by Richmond Magazine readers. PARK365 has now earned top honors in this category for four straight years and remains one of the region’s most beloved public play spaces for people of all ages and abilities. Designed to be accessible for a variety of disabilities, PARK365 features wheelchair ramps, adaptive swings, a sensory wall, a treehouse, water play, and more. Open daily and free to the public, it continues to set the standard for community engagement and barrier-free play.
The Ladybug Fund Winetasting & Silent Auction has become a signature event in Richmond’s spring social calendar and traditionally raises critical funds for SOAR365’s essential programs, including Pediatric Therapy and Supported Employment. In 2026, the gala brought hundreds of supporters together for an evening of fine wine, delicious food, live music, and giving back.
Be sure to mark your calendars; the Ladybug Fund Winetasting & Silent Auction returns on April 10, 2027.
