PARK365 Quarterly | Summer News

Hi there!
Welcome to PARK365 Quarterly, a seasonal (short) e-newsletter to keep you up-to-date on happenings in one of our favorite places in Richmond, PARK365.
Making PARK365 Beautiful
Do you know why the flower beds and green spaces at PARK365 are so well maintained? Volunteers! For instance, every week, Justine Huheey tends a small garden plot, pulling out weeds and clearing overgrowth. (She hopes to add hydrangeas soon!) Earlier this month, Camp Blue Sky campers from Leaf Spring Three Chopt weeded the entrance of the park. This spring, a group from the Virginia Department of Health re-stained the PARK365 entry sign and a group from Marsh McLellan Agency spruced up four areas of the park. Collectively, our volunteers make PARK365 beautiful, and we’re so thankful for them!
Disability Inclusion Day at The Diamond
Mark your calendar for August 21 for an inclusive Richmond Flying Squirrels game that will be fully accessible to the disability community … and there are free tickets available! There will be increased accessible seating, sensory break bags, a sensory zone, lower speaker volume, kids’ field activities and a sensory-friendly entry gate.

The game is on August 21 at 1:35 p.m., when the Richmond Flying Squirrels take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. Disability Inclusion Day at The Diamond is hosted by the Friendship Circle of Virginia. We can’t wait to see you there!

Let’s Party!
Planning a summer birthday party or gathering? We are accepting reservations for the pavilions and patio tables.

SummerFest
What a wonderful evening, full of smiles and laughter! PARK365 welcomed hundreds of people to celebrate our community and share resources during SummerFest 2022. Thank you to our great group of volunteers and all our partnering organizations for making this year’s SummerFest such a perfect night. Special thanks to Anthem HealthKeepers Plus for their sponsorship and to SOAR365’s Next Generation Council for organizing the event.

Boccia at PARK365
Check out this fun game! A group from Sportable needed a place to play Boccia, an adaptive version of Bocce Ball, and what better spot than PARK365! By fostering a fun, inclusive, competitive and accessible environment, Sportable aims to transform the lives of their athletes and help them to reach their personal finish line. We loved seeing everyone and hope Sportable athletes visit again soon!

Thanks to PARK365 visitor Dreamel for sharing these photos!
We love seeing everyone back playing!
If you love PARK365 and want to share, email us photos at
[email protected] so we can feature them in our e-newsletter.

Support PARK365
PARK365 is free to visitors, but not to us. It costs a lot to run a free park, and donations help us maintain PARK365. Thank you for supporting this amazing community resource!
Be safe, be respectful and have fun!
