SOAR365 Case Management Intern
If you are a regular CBS6 viewer, you probably saw a story at the end of October featuring our newest Case Management Intern, Taylor Thomas-Harris! Taylor, who graduated in May of this year from Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree, wanted to add a professional internship experience to her resume and knew that SOAR365 was the perfect place to do that. “What attracted me to SOAR365 was how welcoming the environment is. I had heard many beautiful things about the organization and how everyone delights in helping individuals with disabilities. My passion is to work with individuals with disabilities as I can relate to and share some of my experiences with having a disability.”

Each week, Taylor completes 5-6 hours working with Case Management staff to build her inventory of skills, techniques, and knowledge PLUS another 2-3 hours of direct service with the Children and Youth Program. “I am genuinely enjoying my internship experience thus far, especially interacting with the children and youth. To see them come into our classroom every day after school, eager to see what we have planned for the day, makes my day.” Click here to watch Taylor’s inspiring story!
