SOAR365 Fall Case Management Intern
Brightpoint Community College student Crystina Covington grew up just down the road from SOAR365’s Camp Baker facility. So when the time came to decide on a location for her Human Services Internship, she didn’t have to think twice. “I have been aware of the services offered by SOAR365 for a majority of my life and I have always admired the work done here.”
Upon graduation, Crystina’s plan is to earn her BSW from Liberty University and become a case manager. “I want to help people get on the path to living their best lives.” As an intern with SOAR365’s Case Management Department, Crystina is being exposed to all aspects of professional practice, from family outreach and coordination with other community resources to intake meetings and compliance documentation.
“So far in my internship I am enjoying getting to know the process of sharing information with families and connecting individuals with programs. It’s really helping me learn the day-to-day role of a case manager and learning how to set up a care plan that is individualized to each participant and their needs/interests.”
As a mom to a very energetic two-year-old boy, Crystina really appreciates SOAR365’s commitment to providing vital support for families. “Parenting can be hard under the best circumstances. It really makes me happy to think about what a comfort it must be for these families to discover all of the great things that SOAR365 has to offer.”
